M-AUDIO Oxygen Pro Mini 32 USB MIDI Controller

The M-AUDIO Oxygen Pro Mini 32 is a 32-key USB MIDI keyboard controller, and it lands at number 9 in this guide. At £77.00 it costs £2 less than the 25-key Akai MPK Mini MK3 at £79, even though it has seven more keys than the Akai — which is exactly where counting keys against prices stops making sense. It carries 4.2 out of 5 from 1,575 ratings; the Akai, £2 dearer with fewer keys, carries 30,642. Divided out, the Oxygen Pro Mini 32 comes to about £2.41 a key, against roughly £1.31 a key for the 49-key Nektar SE49 at £64.

What the £77 buys beyond keys, according to the listing, is a control surface: eight RGB backlit drum pads with Note Repeat, four knobs, four buttons and four faders, an OLED screen with auto-mapping to MPC Beats, Ableton Live, Cubase and Logic, and Native Kontrol Standard support with a choice of one Komplete 15 Select bundle. The listing is not fully consistent about who can use it: the bullet points say "for Mac and Win OS", while the Platform field in the same listing reads "Windows, Windows 7".
