The ASUS PRIME RX9070 XT OC is third in our guide to Radeon RX 9070 XT cards. It sells for £719.99 and carries a 4.5 rating from 616 ratings. It is the same 16GB GDDR6 Radeon RX 9070 XT as every other card in the guide, and it carries the same problem: the numbers on its own listing do not agree with each other.

The title quotes a 3030MHz clock, and the bullet list adds "Overclocked" and "Compact SFF-Ready". Scroll to the specification table on the same page and the GPU Clock Speed is listed as 3010 MHz — 20MHz below the headline figure. The same table gives the GPU Series as "AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series", which is not the series the card belongs to. Memory Clock Speed is filled in as 3100 MHz, the same field that the Sapphire cards fill in as 2500MHz and the Gigabytes as 20000MHz. And the 616 ratings quoted at the top of the page sit beside a star breakdown that accounts for only 100 of them, 80 of those five-star. None of this makes the card worse; it means the headline figures are worth less than the price and the rating count. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing, not from testing we carried out ourselves.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

Verified purchase

“This card is an upgrade from a Founders 3070ti and the performance difference is staggering. Idle it is very quiet with the zero fan mode. Build quality felt decent, and no marks or cheap materials were obvious when u boxed. Appearance wise I don't mind the lack of the RGB, as the rest of my PC is LED free, so it's the perfect fit. It was a bit on the large side so make sure your case will fit before buying.Value for money against a 5070ti I am very pleased, I paid £599 and the nearest 5070ti was nearly £300 more at the time of purchase!Highly recommended if you're on a 30 series card!”

“I wanted to build my own steamos pc and this card did not disappoint. It fits in nicely, and plays anything i have thrown at it Great performing card. The fans can be a bit loud, but there is a switch to adjust the threshold for quieter, albeit warmer, experience. No issues with coolingThere is some coil whine coming from the back, but apparently thats common and hopefully dissipates after some use”

Questions people ask

What clock speed does the ASUS PRIME RX9070 XT OC run at?

The product title says 3030MHz. The specification table on the same listing gives the GPU Clock Speed as 3010 MHz, which is 20MHz lower than the title.

Which GPU series does this card belong to?

The listing is inconsistent. Graphics Coprocessor says Radeon RX 9070 XT and Graphics Description says AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16GB GDDR6, but the GPU Series field says AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series.

Will it fit a small-form-factor build?

ASUS describes it as a 2.5 Slot Design compatible with small-form-factor builds and calls it SFF-ready. One reviewer says it was "a bit on the large side", so measure your case clearance rather than going by the badge alone.

How many ratings does the ASUS PRIME RX9070 XT OC have?

The listing shows 4.5 out of 5 from 616 ratings. The star breakdown printed alongside it adds up to 100 ratings, of which 80 are five-star.

Does it have a quiet mode?

Yes. The Dual BIOS bullet lets you toggle between Performance or Quiet modes, and the card uses 3 Axial-Tech fans with dual-ball bearings.

What is in the box?

The listing gives the box contents as GRAPHICS CARD, SET-UP GUIDE.
