The Apple AirPods Pro 3 take second place in our wireless earbuds ranking, and for an iPhone household they are the default for good reason. They pair excellent active noise cancelling with the seamless Apple tricks — instant pairing, hand-off between iPhone, iPad and Mac, hands-free Siri — that simply work better inside Apple's world than any rival can manage. At 4.5 stars over more than ten thousand ratings, with 80 per cent at five, they have the deepest proven record of any premium pair here.
On battery they read modestly next to the budget pairs, and honestly so: around 8 hours of listening per charge with noise cancelling on, and about 24 hours with the case. That 8-hour single-charge figure is the one that matters and it easily covers a long day; the smaller 24-hour total just means the case holds fewer spare charges than a bulkier budget pair, not that they play for less in one sitting. Apple's listing is sparse — it does not fill in the standard specification table — so the detail comes from the product itself rather than the spec sheet. The one real caveat is platform: at GBP 179 much of the advantage evaporates on an Android phone, where you lose the hand-off, Siri and some codec support. Are they worth it on an Android phone?
Much less so. The AirPods Pro 3 are built around Apple features — instant pairing, hand-off between Apple devices, hands-free Siri and Apple's codecs — that Android cannot use. On Android you would be paying GBP 179 for hardware whose main advantages are switched off; the Sony, Nothing or Anker pairs make far more sense there.
How good is the noise cancelling?
Among the best in this ranking, and reviewers who fly rate it highly. It is close to the Bose for outright quiet while adding Apple's natural transparency mode and reliable controls, which is why it is the premium all-rounder rather than a pure noise-blocker.
Why is the spec table empty?
Apple keeps its Amazon listings sparse and does not populate the standard specification fields most brands do. That is a listing choice, not a missing feature; the earbuds themselves are fully specified on Apple's own materials.
Are they better than the AirPods Pro 2?
Reviewers report better noise cancelling than the Pro 2, along with the usual generational refinements. If you already own the Pro 2 and are happy, the jump is incremental; coming from older or wired earbuds, the difference is large.

The earbuds, the charging case and a set of ear tips. As with all earbuds here, getting the right tip size is what makes the noise cancelling and fit work, so try the sizes before deciding they do not seal.
