The spec sheet gives a read speed of 625 Megabytes Per Second, a media speed of 5 gigabits per second and a data transfer rate of 5 Gigabits Per Second. 625 MB/s is 5 Gbps converted into megabytes — the exact ceiling of the USB 3.0 cable that comes in the box, written as though it were the speed of the disk inside. The same sheet also lists 7200 RPM for a 2.5-inch mechanical drive, and fills "Cache Memory Installed Size" with 1 TB, which is the drive's entire capacity rather than a cache figure.
