“This is one fantastic lens for the Nikon Z system. I purchased it in a bundle with my Nikon Z7 and for a supposedly (Kit lens) it is absolutely stunning.It has a Manual /Autofocus button on the side, Zoom ring on top along with your Focus ring at the rear which can be changed in camera to be used as either Aperture or Exposure Compensation. ( very hi-tec )F4 Aperture across the full range and it has to be the sharpest lens I have ever used. Edge to edge sharpness!It comes with the Lens hood and a storage bag which doubles up as a lens cloth ( good thinking Nikon), It is also very small and lightweight compared to my old 24-70 f2.8 vr. It is also fully weather sealed which I have personally tested in a very heavy downpour I got caught in and it did not bother either the camera or lens 1 bit.There is a new 24-70 f2.8 available for twice the price, but as I am a Landscape /street and cityscape photographer I have no need for the F2.8 as I mostly am set between F 8 - 11 which is this lenses optimal Aperture.I cannot recommend this lens highly enough due to price/weight/sharpness for the Z systems.You will be blown away with its image quality.”
“Not as lightweght as suggested. It has some heft. It'a plastic but that's nothing new. The plastic is good quality. You have to open the lens by twisting it to 24mm. It's then released to 24-70mm f4. On my used Z7 II it performs very well. It's sharp throughout. Being f4 is no issue. I can go to ISO 1600 and above with no issues. .So one stop to f2.8 is no loss. There's the bokeh of course but again not much to complain about. I mean 24-70 f2.8 is really expensive. For most uses the 24-70mm f4 S is fine. Quick focusing too. Great for 'macro' work. Close ups are very detailed. There's lots of used copies too. Shop around.”
