Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The LG 43QNED70A6A sits at number eight in this guide, at £279.99. It is a 43-inch 4K set with a 60 Hz panel, Direct LED backlighting, HDR10 and LG's webOS smart platform. That 60 Hz figure is the same one eight of the ten sets here quote, and the cheapest of those ten is £229 — so the £51 you add for this one does not buy a faster panel on the listing's own numbers. The listing also states no brightness figure at all, which puts it with the six sets in this guide that leave that number blank.

Two other things on the listing do not line up with each other. The audio description claims "Virtual 9.1.2 channel surround sound, 20W total power output", while the channel field in the same specification block reads 5.1 — two different channel counts for one set of speakers. And the headline rating of 4.3 comes from 146 ratings, but the star-by-star breakdown shown alongside it adds up to exactly 100 (73 at five stars, 9 at four, 5 at three, 2 at two and 11 at one). Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing as published, not from testing we carried out.

“The LG 55QNED70A6A 55-Inch is a head and shoulders above my 5 years old Panasonic 43" TV, which still works well and will now be installed in my office. I wanted something better that would pair properly with the remote for my EE TV Pro Box via the HDMI port - and this LG model is fully compatible. The TV is served by the EE box 99% of the time in use. I checked out several functions though on the TV without the EE PVR, using the so called "Magic Remote". This including streaming YouTube and BBC iPlayer, tuning the Freeview channel in etc and it was great and very intuitive to use, despite having a very basic written instruction manual.I wanted to avoid the Freely service as this is a hindrance to my type of viewing configuration so that ruled out several other makes of TV. I bought the TV in June 2026 during the Prime week for offers, so there was a good discount available. I felt my purchase was good value for money.I am delighted with the picture quality, the clarity of sound in a 8 metre long lounge - albeit I need the volume at 60+ (much to my wife's chagrin!). I use the SPDIF optical audio output to feed my Yamaha HiFi system without a problem.I'm pleased to report this LG TV is a keeper, my first experience of the brand, no problem therefore in me giving the unit a 5 star rating.”

Questions people ask

Does the LG 43QNED70A6A have a 120 Hz or 144 Hz panel?

No. The listing gives 60 Hz in both refresh rate fields, the same figure quoted on eight of the ten sets in this guide, against 144 Hz claimed on the Hisense E78Q PRO and 50 Hz on the Samsung Q7F2.

How bright is the LG 43QNED70A6A?

The listing states no brightness figure in nits, so there is nothing to compare with the 1,000 nits claimed on the TCL 43T6C or the 500 nits claimed on the Hisense E78Q PRO.

What smart platform and voice assistant does it use?

The listing names LG's webOS platform with AI functionality and the usual streaming services, and the model name itself lists Amazon Alexa.

How many audio channels does the LG 43QNED70A6A have?

The listing is not consistent: the speaker description says virtual 9.1.2 channel surround sound at 20W total output, while the channel field says 5.1.

How does £279.99 compare with the rest of this guide?

It is £51 above the cheapest set here at £229 and £65 below the £345 Hisense E78Q PRO, while quoting the same 60 Hz refresh rate as eight of the ten sets.

What HDR does the LG 43QNED70A6A support?

HDR10 is the only HDR format the listing names, and it also lists Filmmaker Mode.
