Rank #8 in Best 70-200mm Lenses 2026: 9 Ranked, and Five Aperture Fields That Don't Add Up
Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS (L-Mount)
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS is the eighth lens in this guide, listed at £1,499.00. It is a full-frame f/2.8 telephoto zoom for Leica L-mount cameras, with an HLA autofocus motor, optical stabilisation and a dust and splash-resistant structure, according to the listing. On price it sits below the two Sony G Master entries, which are listed at £1,939.00 and £1,825.00. It carries a 4.4-out-of-5 rating from 29 ratings.
The listing's own spec table disagrees with itself. Under "Lens Design" it says Zoom; a few lines further down, under "Fixed Focal Length", it says 200 Millimetres — the same number it gives for "Maximum Focal Length". A zoom that is also fixed at 200 mm is one or the other, not both. The same table gives a photo filter size of 91.44 Millimetres, where the other f/2.8 zooms in this guide are listed at 77 mm or 82 mm. Its aperture field reads "2.8 f", which is at least an aperture figure and not the "2.8 Millimetres" that four other listings in this guide use. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this lens; we have not handled or tested it.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Great Value lens but not perfect yet.Pros: Compared to other options in the L mount the value this lens gives is second to none. The build quality is top class, and the material has a great feel to it. The image quality is just as good as the Lumix Pro lens. It is sharp and even at 200mm the image stabilization was impressive. The price point is just great to see. Weather sealing was a major selling point as I work in extreme environments with heavy rains or dust.Cons: The focus and zoom wheel are opposite to what I'm accustomed to, and it takes time to adjust muscle memory especially when using other Sigma zoom lenses. When using the lens hood it imposes on the zoom ring a little bit, making it harder to just reach and turn while looking at a monitor or viewfinder.”
Verified purchase“Super 70-200 at least as good as the Panasonic in my opinion just cheaper. Feels pro. Yes the lens zoom ring being where it is takes getting used to and you can use it with the hood flipped but this think is sharp as a tack and really takes your photos to the next level. It's fast the AF works almost as fast as factory if there's a difference it's small. Yes it's heavy but it's worth every penny if you got the Pennys to spend”
