“Wireless lavalier microphones have become one of those bits of kit I reach for all the time. Whether I'm filming reviews, recording interviews, or just shooting content on the go, good audio makes a huge difference—and that's where the CM26 MAX surprised me.It packs in features you'd normally expect from much more expensive wireless mics, including AI noise cancellation, 48kHz/24-bit recording, and impressive battery life. While there are now some newer budget competitors, it still offers a lot for the money.Design & BuildStraight out of the box, I liked how compact everything is. You get two transmitters, a USB-C receiver, and a charging case that keeps everything together. The transmitters are lightweight enough that you barely notice them when clipped to your clothing, and the magnetic mounts are handy if you want to hide them a little better.The charging case is a nice bonus too. It keeps everything organised and means I don't have to worry about constantly topping up the batteries between shoots.Audio QualityThe biggest surprise for me was the sound quality. Voices come through clear, detailed, and natural, with very little tweaking needed afterwards. For a microphone in this price range, it's genuinely impressive and easily good enough for YouTube videos, interviews, and social media content.AI Noise CancellationThe AI noise cancellation is probably the feature I was most curious about, and it actually works pretty well.There are two modes: one designed for quieter indoor environments and another for noisier outdoor locations. I found it does a good job of cutting down background noise while keeping voices easy to understand. In really noisy places it can make your voice sound a little processed, but that's a trade-off you'll find with most AI noise reduction systems.Ease of UseOne thing I really appreciate is how simple it is to use. Just plug the receiver into your USB-C device and it works—no Bluetooth pairing or complicated setup.It worked without any issues on Android phones, USB-C iPhones, tablets, laptops, and PCs. The companion app is also useful if you want to fine-tune things like the AI settings or vocal enhancement.Whilst I tested it across a range of devices most of my review relates to my experience with an iPhone 15 Pro MaxBattery LifeBattery life has been excellent. With the charging case, I haven't had to think much about running out of power, and the claimed 50-hour total runtime feels realistic across multiple sessions.The wireless range is also more than enough for the kind of filming I do. It delivers clean, reliable audio, it's incredibly easy to use, and the battery life means I can throw it in my bag without worrying about charging it every day.If you need features like onboard recording or you're already invested in the Rode or DJI ecosystem, those premium options still have the edge. But if you're simply looking for a reliable wireless microphone that sounds great without spending a fortune, I think the CM26 MAX is a really solid choice and one that's easy to recommend.”
