The VonHaus 1600W is our number 2 pick and the budget choice for car cleaning at £64.99, less than half the price of most machines in the ranking. It has also stopped being a guess. The listing now publishes 130 bar in its title, where in August it published no pressure figure anywhere, so the arithmetic finally runs: 130 bar at 390 litres per hour is 1,408 hydraulic watts from a 1,600 watt motor, or 88 percent, which sits inside the honest band for a pump.
More to the point, 130 bar is the right amount of pressure for car paint rather than a compromise. It lifts road film, salt and brake dust without approaching the level where a jet starts finding its way past window seals. Two things stop it ranking higher: the brand's own description quotes a range, 90 to 130 bar and 5.5 to 6.5 l/min, so the bottom of that range is a much weaker machine than the top, and the 5 metre hose is short for a car. Yes. At 130 bar it clears what a car needs comfortably, because road film, salt and brake dust lift at around 100 to 130 bar. More pressure helps on a driveway, not on paintwork, so the figure here is the right amount rather than a shortfall.
How much cleaning power does it produce?
1,408 hydraulic watts, worked out as 130 bar times 390 litres per hour divided by 36. That is 88 percent of its 1,600 watt motor, which is a believable ratio for a real pump.
Why does the brand quote 90 to 130 bar instead of one number?
The brand block on the listing gives a range for both pressure and flow, 90 to 130 bar and 5.5 to 6.5 l/min. At the bottom of that range the machine makes about 825 hydraulic watts instead of 1,408, so the same product covers nearly a two to one spread depending on which end you read.
Does it come with a foam bottle?
Yes, a removable foam bottle for mixing detergent with water is included, and owners who wash cars with it rate the foam gun. One owner notes the bottle is small for anything larger than a family car and is not adjustable.
Is the 5 metre hose long enough for a car?
