Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The Jennov 5MP PTZ Wireless CCTV Camera System sits sixth in this guide at £264.99. It is a wireless kit built around a 10-inch monitor and a 10-channel NVR, with a 1TB drive named in the first bullet and again in the spec table's memory storage capacity, and a video capture resolution of 5MP that matches the 5MP in the product name. Nothing in this listing contradicts itself the way three others in this category do, and that is worth stating plainly, because the pattern in this guide is the opposite.

The one number the listing never gives you is how many cameras are in the box. The title states the channel count of the recorder, not a camera count, and no bullet or spec field supplies one; the figure only turns up in the customer reviews, where a buyer describes pairing four cameras to the screen at the table before installing them. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing and the reviews published on it. We have not tested the kit.

“What can I say....excellent. I wanted a home cctv system that could capture around the home including back garden, shed, patio, front garden and more. I'm not "tech savvy " so I relied heavily on reviews here. For initial set up I used others recommendations which involved plugging the screen into all 4 cameras at the table. It was then easy to connect all 4 cameras which can later be installed round the house at a later date without additional set up. I'm running the system wireless off my router with no issues. Cameras are really good both day and night. I particularly like the 4 Infared lights on each camera at night, a good deterrent. I used a small junction box (from screw fix ) Vimark 4-Entry Square Junction Box with Knockouts 70mm x 42mm x 70mm (999VT). So if your looking for a home cctv system that's great quality, cheap to buy and easy to install this is for you! Oh, once you download the app on your phone to view remote, you need to get the QR code off your remote viewing screen with a right click of mouse ( refer to instruction book last pages). I tried scanning QR code on box which was wrong”

“The camera and system are very easy to set up, clear concise instructions. Once in position I found that the connection over the WiFi was weak but it has never dropped signal yet. The cameras connected to the main display with a QR code which was simple and straight forward. The main display box is easy to navigate and picture is clear. Investing in a wireless mouse helps once mounted on a wall so that the mouse wires aren't hanging down. Instructions for the app are again hassle free with easy connection and access anywhere (I recently was abroad and accessed the cameras without any issues). Overall the camera sytem is well worth the money.”

Questions people ask

How many cameras come with the Jennov 5MP PTZ system?

The listing does not say. The title gives a 10-channel NVR and the spec table repeats 10 for number of channels, but no bullet or spec field states how many cameras are included. A review published on the listing describes connecting four cameras.

Does the Jennov system include a hard drive?

According to the listing, yes. The first bullet says a built-in 1TB HDD ensures ample space for continuous recording, and the spec table lists memory storage capacity as 1 TB.

What resolution do the cameras record at?

5MP. The figure appears in the product name and again in the spec table's video capture resolution, so the two agree rather than conflict.

Is the Jennov system wireless?

The listing gives network connectivity technology as wireless and describes installation with no complex wiring, but the power source is listed as corded electric, so the cameras still need a mains supply.

How far can it see in the dark?

The spec table lists a night vision range of 15 metres and an optical sensor of CMOS with infrared. A bullet claims colour night vision, and one reviewer mentions night vision working well with the smart view lighting.

Which app does it use?

The compatible devices field lists the EseeCloud app. The bullets also mention remote viewing and two-way audio through the built-in microphone and speaker.
