“I'd owned a much lower spec camera by this brand for several years and chose to replace it with the 8mp kit here because of the reliability and picture quality of that old camera. I'm glad I did!I've been impressed with the system for the price paid. It was very easy to set up and install but does need a monitor screen to be plugged into the NVR -I had an old computer monitor to hand. The cables supplied were white and of a good length. It would have been nice to have a black cable option but it wasn't a major issue.A template was supplied to assist drilling holes in the right place which made it easy to mount the cameras.I would recommend testing all the cameras before installing them just in case there was any gremlins in the network cable or cameras.The cameras have stood up to the very wet and cold conditions this winter. The pictures are very clear and the App works well. The supplied NVR hard drive is sufficient for our needs (we have 30 days of continuous monitoring) but you can install a larger storage device if you want to keep recordings for longer. Downloading footage was fairly straightforward once I'd formatted the receiving drive correctly. I like the option to select (or not) the built in light at night if motion is detected resulting in a full colour image.There are plenty of options to personalise each camera. The intelligent motion detection actually works-I have it set to detect people and vehicles and this allows me to quickly skip to key alarm triggers in the phone app. I only use tracking with one camera mainly because the field of view is sufficient with the others. Please note that there is no zoom feature on these cameras but using the highest resolution mode you can enlarge the footage when reviewing later.The NVR has 8 channels so there is an option to add more if you need them. I haven't seen cameras for sale separately and I don't know if you could use any different ones to those supplied.I've been running these since September 2025 and recently had a problem with 2 cameras. The support team were very responsive and helpful. They immediately replaced the 2 units that arrived quickly without fuss and work fine.The problems being a failed infrared unit (the camera worked fine in ambient light) and a sticking pan-tilt motor (again the camera was still recordingOverall, I'm very pleased with the product and exceptional customer service provided.”

“What can I say....excellent. I wanted a home cctv system that could capture around the home including back garden, shed, patio, front garden and more. I'm not "tech savvy " so I relied heavily on reviews here. For initial set up I used others recommendations which involved plugging the screen into all 4 cameras at the table. It was then easy to connect all 4 cameras which can later be installed round the house at a later date without additional set up. I'm running the system wireless off my router with no issues. Cameras are really good both day and night. I particularly like the 4 Infared lights on each camera at night, a good deterrent. I used a small junction box (from screw fix ) Vimark 4-Entry Square Junction Box with Knockouts 70mm x 42mm x 70mm (999VT). So if your looking for a home cctv system that's great quality, cheap to buy and easy to install this is for you! Oh, once you download the app on your phone to view remote, you need to get the QR code off your remote viewing screen with a right click of mouse ( refer to instruction book last pages). “I've had the Reolink RLK8-1200D4-A system installed for over a year now and it has been extremely reliable. I originally bought the kit with four 12MP dome cameras, but I am currently running five cameras through the system with no issues at all.The cameras produce very good image quality, and the night vision is also strong enough to clearly see what is happening around the property after dark.Installation is straightforward thanks to PoE, with a single Ethernet cable providing both power and data to each camera. Stability has been excellent too. In over a year of use I haven't experienced camera dropouts, which was one of my biggest priorities when choosing a CCTV system.The Reolink app is one of the strongest parts of the setup. Live view loads quickly, recordings are easy to access and playback is very responsive. I have used other CCTV brands where playback can be frustratingly slow to load, but Reolink has been noticeably better. Notifications are also very good — if someone steps onto my drive, I usually receive the alert on my phone almost immediately.Downloading footage is simple as well. I have had to provide CCTV footage to the police after my cameras captured an incident they were investigating, and exporting the relevant recordings onto a USB drive was very straightforward.I have also expanded the NVR storage using an external SATA drive and it has worked seamlessly. One thing worth knowing is that if you ever need to power the NVR off, it is best to shut it down properly through the NVR rather than simply pulling the power, as doing otherwise can risk corrupting the hard-drive data. It can be reset if this happens, but it is easily avoided.There are a few small areas that could be improved. Like most infrared CCTV cameras, spiders seem to love building webs around them, although I simply wipe these away with an extendable duster every few weeks. There is also a slight delay when using the two-way audio, but I've used it several times to speak to people outside and it has never caused a real problem.I would also love to see Reolink introduce more advanced facial-recognition AI in future, so notifications could identify familiar people and say who has been detected rather than making you open the app every time. A single emergency siren button capable of activating the alarms on all connected cameras simultaneously would also be a useful addition.Overall, this system has been so good that it would now be difficult to convince me to move to another CCTV brand. I've actually bought additional Reolink cameras to expand my current setup, which probably says more than anything else about how satisfied I am with it.Very reliable, excellent app, fast notifications and strong image quality.
