“I've had the Reolink RLK8-1200D4-A system installed for over a year now and it has been extremely reliable. I originally bought the kit with four 12MP dome cameras, but I am currently running five cameras through the system with no issues at all.The cameras produce very good image quality, and the night vision is also strong enough to clearly see what is happening around the property after dark.Installation is straightforward thanks to PoE, with a single Ethernet cable providing both power and data to each camera. Stability has been excellent too. In over a year of use I haven't experienced camera dropouts, which was one of my biggest priorities when choosing a CCTV system.The Reolink app is one of the strongest parts of the setup. Live view loads quickly, recordings are easy to access and playback is very responsive. I have used other CCTV brands where playback can be frustratingly slow to load, but Reolink has been noticeably better. Notifications are also very good — if someone steps onto my drive, I usually receive the alert on my phone almost immediately.Downloading footage is simple as well. I have had to provide CCTV footage to the police after my cameras captured an incident they were investigating, and exporting the relevant recordings onto a USB drive was very straightforward.I have also expanded the NVR storage using an external SATA drive and it has worked seamlessly. One thing worth knowing is that if you ever need to power the NVR off, it is best to shut it down properly through the NVR rather than simply pulling the power, as doing otherwise can risk corrupting the hard-drive data. It can be reset if this happens, but it is easily avoided.There are a few small areas that could be improved. Like most infrared CCTV cameras, spiders seem to love building webs around them, although I simply wipe these away with an extendable duster every few weeks. There is also a slight delay when using the two-way audio, but I've used it several times to speak to people outside and it has never caused a real problem.I would also love to see Reolink introduce more advanced facial-recognition AI in future, so notifications could identify familiar people and say who has been detected rather than making you open the app every time. A single emergency siren button capable of activating the alarms on all connected cameras simultaneously would also be a useful addition.Overall, this system has been so good that it would now be difficult to convince me to move to another CCTV brand. I've actually bought additional Reolink cameras to expand my current setup, which probably says more than anything else about how satisfied I am with it.Very reliable, excellent app, fast notifications and strong image quality. Highly recommended.”
