The finding for this one is arithmetic. The name and all four camera bullets say 12MP, while the same listing's Video Capture Resolution field reads 2560 x 1944. That is roughly 5 megapixels: under half the number in the title, and short of 4K (3840 x 2160) as well.
It is not the only figure that disagrees with itself. The bullets promise a 97° viewing angle and the spec table says 93 degrees; one bullet claims the cameras "capture even more details than 4K cameras" while the resolution field sits below 4K. What does hold together is the package: eight channels, cameras powered and fed data over a single Ethernet cable each, colour night vision with motion-activated spotlights, person and vehicle detection, two-way audio, and a 2TB drive expandable to 16TB. Buyers are divided on the headline number too — one review describes the picture as 4K, another counts four 12MP cameras after a year of use. Is this a 12MP system?
The Reolink listing says 12MP in the product name and in the camera bullets, but its own Video Capture Resolution field reads 2560 x 1944, which is about 5MP — less than half the figure the title uses.
Does the £679.99 price include cameras?
Yes. The Reolink set is advertised as four PoE cameras plus an 8-channel NVR — unlike the Reolink RLN8-410 listing at £289.99, whose published box contents are a recorder, power adapter, USB mouse, HDMI cable, 1m network cable, quick start guide and screws, with no cameras at all.
Is a hard drive included?
Yes. The product name states a 2TB HDD and the easy-to-install bullet repeats it, adding that storage can go up to 16TB.
Why do the viewing angle figures differ?
The Reolink bullets say 97° and the spec table lists 93 degrees. The listing does not explain the difference.
How are the cameras powered and connected?
