The WORX WG633E Nitro is our number 6 pick and it answers one specific problem: a car with no socket or tap near it. It draws water from a bucket, a tank, a water butt or a pond, runs on a 20 volt battery for around thirty minutes, and is light enough to carry down three flights of stairs, which is exactly what one owner living in a flat describes doing in order to wash her car.
On a car its apparent weakness becomes a genuine argument. Owners repeatedly note that mains powered machines can be harsh for car cleaning and can damage components around the wheels and brakes, and that lower pressure is preferable where you do not want water penetrating seals and electrics. So although 56 bar at 220 litres per hour is only 342 hydraulic watts, about a fifth of a mid-range corded machine, that is a fifth aimed at the one job where less is safer. Is a cordless pressure washer good enough to wash a car?
For a car, yes, and there is an argument that it is better. Several owners point out that mains machines can be harsh on a vehicle, particularly around the wheels and brakes, and that lower pressure avoids forcing water past seals and into electrics. It will not clean a dirty driveway.
How much pressure does the WORX Nitro actually deliver?
The headline says up to 56 bar, but the bullet describing the spray patterns gives a high and low pressure setting of 38 bar and 25 bar. So 56 is the peak and normal use sits between 25 and 38 bar, which works out at roughly 232 hydraulic watts rather than 342.
How long does the battery last?
Around thirty minutes and about 100 litres of water, which one owner measured and found in line with the manufacturer guidance. Several owners report washing an SUV twice on one charge with power to spare.
Does it really weigh 1.5 kg?
Not as a complete kit. The bullet list claims 1.5 kg, which is the gun alone, while the specification field says 4.11 kg for the item. The product dimensions given, 6 by 10 by 20 cm, are also the gun rather than the whole package.
Can it draw water from a bucket?
Yes, and that is the main reason to buy it. The supplied 6 metre hose drops into a bucket, water butt, tank or pond. One common complaint is that the filter on the hose end floats as the bucket empties, and owners solve it by hooking a small weight onto the filter.
Is it worth more than a corded machine?
Only if the cable or the tap is genuinely your problem. At £143.99 it costs more than every corded machine in this ranking except the Kärchers, while producing about a fifth of their hydraulic power. For a flat with no outside tap, or a car parked away from the house, that trade makes sense.
